Brighton University, Business School, Project BIM update

William Coates Mechanical & Electrical Engineers are on programme to complete the Brighton University’s New School of Business in line with BIM Level 02 / RIBA 4B Standards. Working with the Design & Construction Teams the Project has been delivered in strict compliance with PAS1192-2:2013 & PAS1192-3:2014 with the first COBIE (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange) Data Drop being completed in April 2020 with the Final Drop Programmed for March 2021.

William Coates in-house Project Team managed and delivered all aspects of the MEP BIM Deliverables utilising REVIT2019 Autodesk Software in line with the BEP (Building Execution Plan) Requirements. Bi-Weekly BIM Co-Ordination Meetings to review the Project Federated Model with the Design & Construction Team and the generation of focused Clash Detection Reporting & Tracking Tools through the Projects Common Data Environment (CDE) has allowed for comprehensive Co-Ordination which has been key to the delivery of this Design & Build Contract. Our Site Management Team have access to the Navisworks Models which has allowed for real time review on site and collaboration with office staff via virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams to review progress and manage co-ordination of all Specialist Sub-Contractors.
